About this Project

Here is what you will expected to do: 

 The Harlem Renaissance

1.  Select an author or artist from the Harlem Renaissance.  Research biographical information. 

2.  Place the author/artist within their historical context.  Research information about the Harlem Renaissance--historical, cultural, social influences. 

3.  Select a work done by the chosen author/artist.  Summarize the work, techniques, themes, content, etc.  (attach the work as an addendum to the paper)

4.     Relate the chosen work to at least two of the four themes of the Harlem Renaissance.

     a.     African American struggles

     b.     Black is beautiful

     c.     Celebrating the African American experience

     d.     Speaking out against injustice
